Attachment Based - Cognitive Behavioral Systemic Therapy
(AB-CBST)
The Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy provides its Attachment Based - Cognitive Behavioral Systemic Therapy training for licensed therapists, as well as student therapists who are interested in learning how to successfully integrate evidence based approaches to provide principal driven treatment to children, adults, couples, and families.
There has been much research on the effectiveness on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and outcomes for both adults and children are improved by involving the systems in the clients' lives. When working with children and adolescents, the ability to work with family the family systemic is necessary, and when working with adults, working with their partners or family members can be invaluable in creating lasting change.

Those training in AB-CBST can take workshops, get consultation and participate in "one way mirror" training. Clinicians will learn the fundamentals of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Evolving Structural Strategic Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and how to incorporate techniques and ideas from Narrative Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure with Response Prevention, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, and other models.

ONE WAY MIRROR TRAINING
In the one way mirror trainings, licensed and prelicensed students will be part of the team watching the live sessions and calling in with direction for the therapist. An expert in the specific approach (CBT, EFT, Family Therapy) will be calling in, while another therapist will be providing the treatment in the session. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults will be in the Fall, Couples Therapy in the Winter, and Evolving Structural-Strategic Family Therapy in the Spring. The cost for the year long training is $2000 ($600 for unlicensed), which is for 92 hours of training over 11 months.

Information on Continuing Education Credit for Health Professionals
• CE credits for psychologists are provided by the Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy (IAP) which is sponsoring this program. The Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
• The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFT license renewal for programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.
• LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFTs, and other mental health professionals from states other than California need to check with their state licensing board as to whether or not they accept programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association.
