This Summer Intensive is intended for licensed therapists as well as student therapists who are interested in learning how to successfully integrate evidence based approaches to provide principal driven treatment to children, adults, couples, and families.
There has been much research on the effectiveness on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and outcomes with adults are improved by involving the systems in the clients' lives. - Adding systems work to any approach, greatly reduces the likelihood of relapse and increases client's quality of life and relationships
- All change is cognitive, although the road to a cognitive shift may be through behavioral interventions, cognitive interventions, systemic interventions, or process/experiential interventions
- Attachment is an organizing principal for how one relates to oneself, the world, and other people.
- Attachment is an organizing principal to the relationship between the therapist and client, which is one of the most important predictors of outcome

**Please note: to accommodate for shelter-in-place mandates, our Summer 2021 trainings are now available for remote attendance via Zoom.**
The Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy provides a week long, summer intensive training in Attachment Based - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AB-CBST). The training covers all the elements of AB-CBST in one week's time. We have a number of therapists from our local Bay Area who attend the trainings, as well as therapists training nationally and internationally to attend the trainings.
