The Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy provides couples therapy as well as trains clinicians in providing effective, evidence-based therapy. Research has shown that couples tend to wait an average of six years after problems begin to seek therapy. Whether you've got a long-standing problem or recently have developed difficulties, couples therapy could be helpful to you. We provide Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, which is an evidence-based therapy with research showing significant improvement in 88% of couples who are treated with EFT and 70-73% of couples moving from distress to recovery in an average of 20 sessions.
We provide therapy to couples in every stage of the relationship from dating, to long-term partnership or marriage. We work with clients from all different cultures, religions, age groups, ethnic backgrounds, gender identifications, physical abilities, and sexual orientations.
Our staff are well trained and have ample experience in working with couples. We also have experienced trainees, either pre- or post-licensed, that may be choosing a specialty in this area. In addition to the couples therapists who are part of the clinic, we also have one opening that is available four times a year for working with the Couples Clinic Team.
