The Institute for the
Advancement of Psychotherapy Training for Licensed Clinicians and Students The Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy is dedicated to providing quality, in-depth training to mental health professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area. IAP goes beyond the workshop to help clinicians gain mastery in developing their new skills. Through a supportive consultation group, live supervision, and being provided clients to work with, you will increase your competency and expand your scope of practice. For a small investment of your time and money, you will be providing more effective therapy and may be expanding your competency and ability to take on a larger variety of clients. |
IAP
is dedicated to hiring the leading trainers who are capable of training
clinicians to a high level of competency. Therapists will
start off with a workshop to build the foundation of theory and
techniques they will be learning. Then you will have the
option of participating in a consultation group and/or live supervision.
In the live training, you will start off as part of the team,
observing therapy happening at the moment and be with the consultant who
is calling in with suggestions during the session. Afterwards,
the session will be discussed to understand why interventions were
carried out and were or were not successful. This is a
great way to learn the art of therapy.
Once you’ve gotten a good foundation, then you may be referred a client to work with, if you wish, or even provide therapy live for the team and obtain supervision. There’s no better way to learn new skills than to observe live sessions and being coached by a consultant during the session.
